I’ve gotten a lot of questions about me quitting my job and what my plan is.
Well, I won’t lie, I get mixed emotions about answering this question. It’s irritating, disappointing, and discouraging when they don’t know my story.
The biggest question I ask myself is, “What will people think?” I’ve learned and am still learning to not care what people think, but there’s always that bit of wonder in my brain of other’s judgement or opinions.
So, here is my answer…
My job was never permanent. It was a student assistant position that could only last so long. Don’t get me wrong when I say what I’m about to say because this job taught me a lot and gave me a lot (and I mean A LOT) of experience that I’m so grateful for, but this job was not meant for me. For multiple reasons.
I know money shouldn’t matter if I’m getting experience, but when you’re only working so many hours, a full-time student, have bills to pay, and feel overworked, coming home with $300-$400 every two weeks just doesn’t cut it.
I won’t lie, I could be better with how I spend my money, but working a job that can, at times, be stressful, makes you want to go out and blow off some steam with a little partying, (I’m also in my 20’s, so what does one expect me to do?) should be a sign that job just isn’t for you.
Are you wondering how a student assistant position can be stressful? Well, when you’re good at the work you do and are knowledgeable, people start to rely on you. That can be a lot sometimes.
I would sit at my desk processing the same forms and letters over and over and over. I couldn’t wait for the day to be over so I could go to the gym, then home, and lay in bed. It was draining.
When I look at my future, I see myself doing something I enjoy and not wishing for the day to be over. I see myself being the CEO of my own company, having a team full of believers and creators, people that share the same passions as me. I want to take off whenever to spend time with my family and be able to give my team that same freedom.
So, two years later, I left that student assistant position, happier than ever. I didn’t have something else lined up, but I had and still have a plan.
I decided I want to open my own business, maybe multiple businesses. I want to travel while I have the time and explore. I want to see the world and be inspired by all it has to offer.
Another topic that has been brought up is my Arbonne business. It took me a few months of saying “No” until I finally said “Ok, let’s try it out.” Arbonne is giving me the future of financial freedom and living a healthier lifestyle.
Many people often get Multi-Level-Marketing confused with a Pyramid Scheme and tell me this is just another scheme. With a pyramid scheme, not only is it illegal, you can’t pass the person above you. In multi-level marketing, you can pass anyone above you.
Network marketing is the second highest paid profession behind professional athletes. Everyone in their life has done network marketing, but never got paid for it. How many times have you told someone in person or on Instagram where your shirt or jacket or skirt were from? Did you get paid by that store/brand? No.
Yes, being paid to promote Arbonne is nice, but I wouldn’t be promoting these products if I didn’t love them! Just like you wouldn’t tell someone where your shirt or jacket is from if you didn’t love it.
So, what’s my plan for this year?
It’s to be happy and successful. Doing what I want and what I’ve dreamed of.
