Quarantine Life

I know I’m not the only one that is going absolutely stir crazy during this time, right?

Many people, like myself, have or are experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, paranoia, and so on. I’m here to tell you, you are not alone! Trust me. Not everyone experiences it the same, but that doesn’t mean one isn’t feeling this way.

I’ve had many moments where I’ve been able to keep it together and I’ve had days (quite a few) where I have major mood swings, I sleep all day, I get antsy, I get bored, and feel extremely unmotivated. I’m sure many of you are feeling bored not being able to go out and be with their friends.

I’m someone who’s used to going somewhere with my family or going out with my friends on the weekends and not being able to do that, is just weird and unusual to me. Not being able to do normal things, like going to the gym, is hard for me. There are days that I have zero motivation to do a workout and then feel like shit the next day.

It’s easy in times like this to get frustrated, anxious, depressed, fearful, whatever you’re feeling, it’s normal.

The more you worry, the more you will think about the future when we don’t know what the future holds, and as scary as that is, we need to focus on the present and control what we can. You can’t control what happens (besides keeping yourself safe) and you definitely can’t control everyone. I know there are some people who are still living like nothing is happening, hopefully they will realize they need to protect themselves to protect others, but in the meantime, worry about yourself and have faith.

The most important thing you can do is to try and relax. Things that help me are to read a book, go for a walk/workout, listen to music or a podcast, take a bath, or light some candles and put on some relaxing music. Find something, or things, that work for you.

We will get through this. Together. Stay home and stay safe.

Thank you to everyone on the frontline. You are loved and appreciated.
