It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

You know I had to start off that way!

Well, we are at the end of this crazy year – thank goodness!

I know some people already started decorating for Christmas back in May (maybe earlier – no judgement) for some cheerfulness, but I thought I would share some of my most favorite holiday traditions!

To start, if you personally know my mom and I, you know as soon as we break out the peanut butter, ritz crackers, & chocolate, it’s OFFICIALLY Christmas time! 

One of my favorite traditions with my mom since I was a kid, is making our special Christmas cookies! My mom gives these out to our family and close friends as part of a gift and honestly, everyone loves it! My mom gets asked so many times months leading up to Christmas, “You’re making your cookies, right?” I like to joke and tell people no sometimes!

With this holiday being so restricted, my family is doing a tamale making party via zoom – so weird not being together! Usually, my grandparents would host a tamale making party for the whole family + close friends, then we would go to their house on Christmas Eve for an Open House/eat the delicious tamales we made! This night would be so fun because we would see family/friends we haven’t seen in a year (or longer) and just have a great time drinking, eating tamales, and laugh the night away!

But, I would rather have more holidays & Christmas Eve open houses with them in the future!

Now, I’ve gotta know, do you prefer a real tree or an artificial tree??

Personally, I love the smell of a real tree, although I know it can get messy. I currently have an artificial (although I wanted a real one this year).

I love the look of white, silver, and gold and not too many ornaments. I like simple, but elegant.

Do you like your tree to be colorful and full? Or simple with not too much?

There’s something about this time of year that makes me enjoy all the small things, like going to look at Christmas lights.

I took my parents out to go look at lights one night and they had so much fun! We walked to Shake Shack after dinner, got some holiday milkshakes, blasted Christmas music, and drove down Land Park. Usually we would have Logan with us (we’ll probably do it again when we do have him), but it was just as fun!
